Wildflower to represent Dick and Jane

New York— The Wildflower Group has been named the North American licensing agency for the classic children's publishing property Dick and Jane, continuing the trend of retro brands making a return in the mid-2000s.
The Wildflower Group is targeting the storybook property, owned by publisher Penguin Group, part of the Pearson company, to the juniors and children's markets.
The children's program is scheduled to debut this fall with offerings in the classic toy and home furnishings categories. Worldwide Dreams plans to unveil its back-to-school program next year.
To date, the firm has signed two licensees in the juniors category — apparel manufacturer Hyp Hats and bag manufacturer Worldwide Dreams. Hyp Hat's line of retro Dick and Jane T-shirts will launch this spring in mid-tier and specialty stores.
Michael Carlisle, principal with the Wildflower Group, said the company was pleased to represent Dick and Jane, which was first published in 1930. "There is no other retro publishing program that is as well-known as Dick and Jane — bar none — and we're thrilled to be able to take it to a whole new level with innovative and timely new licensing programs," he said.
Dick and Jane merchandise hits shelves this spring.
