New York— Design Press, the book packaging division of The The Savannah College of Art and Design, introduced a collection of fine art for children at Toy Fair last month. The illustrations are from six Design Press books written by Dr. Paula S. Wallace, president of the college, and illustrated by SCAD alumnae.
The eight illustrations in the initial launch represent a range of artistic themes to decorate a child's room with multi-cultural art. Included in the collection is a painting by SCAD alumni Lin Wang of a slumbering child, from the book "The Land of Woo;" a playful watercolor of a boisterous boy dancing with his friendly red alligator in "Bayou Boys," by alum Timothy Banks; and a piece featuring a child with his cat, titled "Best Friends," by SCAD alumni and artist Catherine Myler Fruisen.
The matted art prints are 16 by 16 inches and 20 by 16 inches, and retail at $75 for canvas giclée prints and $40 for archival paper digital prints. Books retail from $5.95 to $6.95.
This print is from the book "The Land of Woo."
