Orlando, Fla.— British-based juvenile furniture manufacturer Quantock Furnishings made its U.S. debut at the Tupelo Furniture Market last month.
Quantock produces child-size upholstered chairs, sofas and chaise lounges in a variety of fabrics, such as cotton prints, leather, vinyl, tapestry and jacquard. The line is composed of about 25 SKUs that are produced in the United Kingdom. Retail prices range from $75 up to $500 for some of the leather items.
David Warr, the director of U.S. marketing based here, said that officials decided this was the right time to bring their product to the States. "A market demand in the USA was identified, and the leather collection in particular lends itself to the more discerning U.S. customer," he said.
Warr said Quantock felt that given Tupelo's track record, it seemed to be the ideal market for launching the product. The manufacturer is considering attending other U.S. markets and trade shows, but has not made any decisions yet.
Quantock is targeting juvenile specialty stores as well as mainline furniture retailers. "The leather range would certainly suit and compliment the ranges of leather furniture retailers," Warr said.
The collection is available for immediate shipping.
The collection retails between $75 and $500.
