Flexa furniture, Denmark's largest children's furniture manufacturer, opened its third licensed U.S. location with a grand opening event on April 22 in Virginia Beach, Va.
Owners Carol Ann and Jim Janca opened the store based on their experience with Krazy Kids, their children's furniture store in Chesapeake. Krazy Kids is 4,800 square feet and carries an assortment of juvenile and youth product, including Flexa. It's about 22 miles away from the new 3,000 store.
The store features Flexa's colorful, modular beds and accessories.
"Kids run to the Flexa beds first," Carol Ann said. "And parents like it because it's safe, it lasts and it's cost effective. Plus they like to see their kids having fun in their rooms."
The other two U.S. stores are in Los Angeles and Honolulu.
The company also broke ground on April 19 on its Suffolk, Va.-based manufacturing facility, which is slated to open in November or December.
