Spencer, Mass.— Plush and toy manufacturer Mary Meyer has partnered with Taggies to produce a line of licensed products trimmed with the Taggies patented concept of satiny, looped ribbon tags.
The Mary Meyer line will include teethers, rattles, musical stuffed animals, stuffed animal hand puppets and finger puppets. Products are in development and will debut at the All Baby and Child Expo in Las Vegas in September. Retailers can expect product to ship in October.
"We're so excited about this wonderful opportunity to unite with Mary Meyer, which is such an eminent and well-regarded organization in the industry, and one that so completely shares our fundamental values," said Julie Dix, who created the first Taggies products.
Current Taggies products include fleece blankets, pillows, baby booties and travel toys.
Mary Meyer President Kevin Meyer said he knew instantly that the two companies were a "perfect match."
"Our corporate philosophies are the same: products have to be made with the utmost of integrity, exceeding any possible safety standards, designs have to be ever-changing and customer service has to be exceptional," he explained.
"We have high expectations for this delightful line of products," said Steven Meyer, creative director for Mary Meyer. "We've been making plush toys for 72 years and feel we're pretty good at predicting a winner. This is one."
This is the second licensing venture for Taggies, which also recently partnered with Scholastic for two Taggies books. A third book, "My First Taggies Book: Princess" is set for release in November.
