Mutsy, a Dutch company founded in Holland more than 40 years ago, is making its U.S. debut this month at the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas. The company is well-known in Europe for its high-end strollers and is looking to build upon its success with consumers here.
"Mutsy's systems have evolved over the last five years and have a more modern look," said Alison Bates, vice president of Mutsy U.S. "The stroller industry has seen a dramatic change and consumers are willing to spend more money today on high-quality products."
The company will show its three primary chassis, including its flagship stroller, Urban Rider, along with the 4Rider and 4Rider light; each is offered in seven color options and feature extendable handles and easy-fold frames.
Urban Rider retails between $700 and $800 and comes with two sets of wheels (for urban or suburban use), seat and bassinet. The 4Rider and 4Rider Light, which retail between $600–$700, have a more traditional wheelbase but sport the same sleek chassis profile as the Urban Rider.
Mutsy also will debut accessories like rain shields, a currier-style diaper bag that fastens to the stroller, ride-on boards for toddlers, foot muffs and a Fun seat for toddlers. It also offers the Easy Grow highchair, $200, which is adjustable for children up to 12 years old and a booster seat, $50. Debuts will ship this month.
The company already has plans for 2008 launches, including a twin stroller and the lighter weight Spider stroller.
Mutsy's Urban Rider is shown in Ocean with the bassinet component.
