Cocoon debuts at ABC Expo

Cocoon, a new division from Georgia-based Baby's Dream Furniture, was unveiled at the ABC Expo in Las Vegas last month.
The nursery furniture line includes four collections, with an assortment of cribs and case pieces available in a variety of finishes. The cribs all convert to toddler and full-size beds and retail between $349 and $549. Kelly Kuch, marketing executive with Baby's Dream, said the new division was formed because the product mix is a departure from Baby's Dream normal aesthetic. "It has a different look, a different style," Kuch said.
The 1000 Series includes a crib, dresser, hutch and armoire. The birch group features curved tops, fluted posts and custom hardware, giving the group a classic look. The dresser has three drawers and a cabinet for diapers or other supplies, and the armoire features two drawers at the bottom and two swing-out doors with hanging bar and two shelves inside. The group is offered in rich paprika and espresso finishes.
The 2000 Series is a pine group composed of a crib, dresser, hutch, armoire and three-drawer dresser with a slide-out shelf and open shelves. The Shaker-style collection features straight lines and tapered legs, and is offered in caramel and paprika finishes. The 3000 Series crib has a traditional design with slightly curved posts. The case goods in the series — dressing station, hutch and six-drawer chest and wardrobe — feature ribbed detailing on the posts. The wardrobe offers three drawers, an open shelve space and a swing-out door with a hanging bar and two adjustable shelves. Series 3000 is offered in three finishes — vanilla, paprika and espresso.
The last group, the 4000 Series, consists of a crib with ribbed posts that coordinates with the 3000 Series case pieces. It's offered in vanilla, paprika and espresso.
The Cocoon collections are scheduled to ship early next year, with distribution available to independent specialty stores.
