Dualstar Entertainment Group has signed an agreement with manufacturer ELK Lighting to produce a line of licensed lighting under the Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen brand. The collection will debut this month at the International Lighting & Accessories Show in Dallas.
The mary-kateandashley collection is composed of about 16 SKUs and includes a mix of table and floor lamps and chandeliers. Subgroups in the collection include a series featuring smoked black glass with pink facets and a group of antique white chandeliers with a combination of pink and clear crystals and pink roses. Another group allows consumers to customize their own shade by picking the color and pattern. The entire collection will retail between $79 and $349 and will be sold through lighting showrooms and retailers.
The Olsens worked with designers at ELK Lighting to create the collection. "We are enthusiastic to be working with Ashley and Mary-Kate to design premium lighting targeting teens and tweens that will help fill a void the currently exists in the industry," said Carre McConnon, account executive, licensing division, ELK Lighting.
"Ashley and I recognize stylish lighting options for teens are hard to find," said Mary-Kate Olsen. "Our new lighting collection is an extension of our home line, which offers girls the opportunity to create a unique space of their own that is fun, sophisticated and feminine."
The lighting line expands the mary-kateandashley brand's reach into the home market, which already includes A.P. Inds. for furniture along with rugs and other room décor items.
