Kaloo launches Web site, announces contests

By Lisa Casinger -- Kids Today, 4/1/2007

Kaloo has launched its Web site, www.kaloo-usa.com, and is offering retailer and consumer contests.

The site provides information about the brand, its products (plush, furniture, rugs, apparel, fragrance and more) and features a master retailer section highlighting stores that make a significant commitment to Kaloo by purchasing a certain amount of Kaloo, carrying a variety of product and submitting a current display photo.

"We work hard to promote our independent retailers and we don't sell directly to consumers," said Leif Quraeshi, president of Kaloo USA. "The site has a retailer-only portal that has our latest catalog, price list and FAQ. It helps accounts understand the brand and we're always updating it. It's not enough to simply ship the product and hope for the best. We're all in this together."

The company also is running contests, one for consumers and the other for retailers.

The consumer contest is monthly and invites them to send in images of their children with their favorite Kaloo products. The monthly winner receives a $50 Kaloo product.

Quraeshi said the consumer contest is a great traffic driver for the site, further giving exposure to the master retailers listed.

For retailers, there is the second annual display competition. Retailers can send in photos of their window and/or in-store displays until June 30.

Prizes include $1,000 worth of Kaloo at retail for first place, $500 for second, $250 for third and $100 for fourth.

The winners also will be promoted in nationwide press releases and on the Kaloo Web site.
