Danish executive will oversee division

SUFFOLK, Va. — Peder Sorensen has left his position as president of youth bedroom importer Flexa Furniture as the company transitions to a new business model.
Per Lykke Jensen, president of Danish parent company Flexa Group, will oversee the division while Claus Johnsen, U.S. production manager, handles the daily operations.
Earlier this year, Flexa sent out a notice saying it would no longer supply U.S. retailers except for its four Flexa branded stores and new ones it plans to open. When the business model changed, Sorensen’s responsibilities did as well. He said he eventually realized that the company had a reduced need for management, and that he wanted to seek new opportunities.
