Net loss for third quarter hits $5.6 million

-- Kids Today, 1/2/2008 12:20:00 PM

Shares of BabyUniverse, the Denver-based Internet retailer of baby and maternity products, fell 26 percent, the most ever, after the retailer posted a loss on a drop in sales.

The net loss was $5.6 million, or 31 cents a share, in the fiscal third quarter, compared with a loss of $6 million, or 40 cents, a year earlier, the retailer said last month in a statement. Sales fell 2 percent, to $16.2 million.
