EeBoo Corp., of New York, has recalled about 170,000 of its Tot Tower block sets because of a potential choking hazard.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the plastic laminate film covering the toy blocks can detach, posing a choking hazard to children. EeBoo has received two reports of incidents in which a block’s plastic covering detached and was found being mouthed by a child. No injuries have been reported from such incidents.
The recalled Tot Tower blocks were sold in sets of 10 blocks ranging from 6" x 6" 1.5" by 1.5" between January 2003 and September 2007. The block sets were sold in various themes including Things I Know New, Garden Fairies, Hardware Store, Around the Land, Read-To-Me, Animal Sounds, Animal Alphabet, ABC and Nursery Friends.
The toys were manufactured in China.
Consumers are asked to immediately take the recalled toy away from children and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund, or contact eeBoo Corp. directly to receive a replacement toy. The company can be reached at (800) 791-5619 or online at www.eeboo.com.
