RALEIGH, N.C. – Scandinavian Child has acquired European juvenile products distributor Euro-Baby. As part of the acquisition, the Micralite stroller brand will join Scandinavian Child’s roster of high-end gear products.
Bill Jacoby, president of Euro-Baby, will become vice president of operations with Scandinavian Child. He will be responsible for expanding the North Carolina distributor’s customer service and the use of technology to publicize the company.
Micralite is the newest product line for Scandinavian Child, which also distributes Svan of Sweden, Cariboo of New Zealand, Anka by Svan and Lillebaby. The stroller brand rounds out a portfolio that already includes high chairs, bouncers, bassinets, carriers and scooters.
“Scandinavian Child has worked hard to find products that fit into our ‘designs without compromise’ philosophy and has looked for a stroller company for several years that would meet our high standards,” said Brenda Berg, president and founder. “Safety, functionality, and high-end design are at the core of what we do, so we are pleased to be working with Micralite. Adding Bill to our team will also strengthen our offering through his industry experience, as well as his leadership abilities in the areas of operations and technology.”
Scandinavian Child plans to launch several products in the Svan collection at this month’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair and debut introductions in all of its brands at the ABC Expo in September.
