Broyhill renames youth line Adaptables

Larry Thomas -- Kids Today, 8/21/2008 10:03:00 AM

Lenoir, N.C. — Broyhill has renamed its youth furniture line Adaptables to better reflect its appeal to young people in all age groups.

The line, which had been called Broyhill Kids, features seven collections, including several whose designs are based on top-selling adult bedroom groups.

“We decided to re-brand the category because our youth collections not only fill the needs of kids, but also tweens and teens,” said Linda Moretz, merchandise manager for youth furniture.
She said the groups also are being marketed for second and third adult bedrooms because of their smaller scale.

“Our new lines have been well received and we look forward to continued growth in this category,”Moretz said.

At last month’s Las Vegas Market, the company unveiled Artisan, a group with Arts & Crafts styling, and Nouvelle, which features classic Louis Philippe styling.

Other collections in the youth lineup are Halsten and Genevieve, which are designed for girls; Whitson, which is designed for boys; and Attitudes and Attic Heirlooms, which are designed for either gender.
