Several vendors who exhibit in the World Market Center’s Vegas Kids area, Building A, Space 930 will be open Sept. 6-10 for a private viewing of their latest products.
Permanent showrooms for Alligator Enterprises, Berg Furniture, Bolton Furniture/Vermont Precision Woodworks, Comfort Research, California Kids, One World Kids, Creative Images, Furniture Basics and Southeastern Kids will be open Saturday, Sept. 6 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday-Wednesday, Sept. 7-10 from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
“We [Berg] were one of the original supporters of the ABC Kids Expo and have shown at every show and were prepared to exhibit at this year’s show as well,” said Almog Lieber, owner of Berg Furniture.
“However, this year the agreement between the ABC organization and the vendors was changed and prohibits vendors from selling, advertising or allowing a third party to sell or advertise during set up, show dates or break down any showroom located in the Vegas area. We had to make a choice.”
Berg and several other vendors have larger, permanent showrooms in the Vegas Kids area of World Market Center’s Building A.
“We have a 2,100 square foot, beautifully accessorized permanent showroom where we’ve created a great selling environment,” Lieber said. “Obviously this showroom comes with a price and as a businessman I should use it as much as I can.”
Geoffrey Jackson, president of Bolton Furniture/Vermont Precision Woodworks, will also have his showroom open.
“Historically the kids’ specialty shows, including the former JPMA show, have been our most important shows. Last year’s ABC show was our most successful,” Jackson said. “As everyone is now aware, our business model has changed this year and we’ve scaled back on domestic manufacturing. Ultimately we feel we can do a better presentation of our product in our permanent showroom in Vegas Kids where we can show more products.”
Jackson also said Bolton Furniture/Vermont Precision Woodworks is continuing some domestic manufacturing options and dealers can call the company for more details.
“We sincerely wish everyone at ABC has a good, successful show,” Jackson said. “We definitely don’t want to step on their toes and that’s why we’re trying to focus our invitation to the day before the show and to the mornings, while still remaining open until 6 p.m.”
The Vegas Kids exhibitors will host breakfast Sunday-Wednesday from 7-9 a.m. They will also provide a complimentary shuttle from WMC to the Las Vegas Convention Center from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday.
Other World Market Center exhibitors who offer youth product will also be open. At press time Orleans, Kush and Tradewins are slated to be open.
