Mam establishes U.S. foothold

Mam establishes U.S. foothold

By Gerri Hunt -- Kids Today, 5/1/2009

Twenty-Five Years after entering the U.S. market through distributor Sassy, Austrian baby care product manufacturer Mam (pronounced mum) has rebranded and opened an office here.

Michael Tedesco, former head of sales for stroller producer Maclaren, is CEO of Mam USA.

"We have enjoyed a great collaboration with Sassy and it is time to establish a stronger foothold in America," he said. "We are thrilled to be hitting the ground running and actively cultivating new relationships to extend Mam's reach to consumers."

Mam USA took over operations at the beginning of the year, and business is already up 18% over last year.

"The challenge is taking the company into the marketplace it has been in for 25 years and not skipping a beat," said Tedesco, who is working on all aspects of the company, including vendor set-up, inventory control and forecast planning. "We're working closely with retailers, ensuring in-stock situations."

Mam says its mission is to support the healthy development of babies with well-researched products, produced to the highest possible standards.
