EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass.—Hasbro donated more than $300,000 worth of card games to local libraries for the American Library Association's second annual National Gaming Day.
For the Nov. 14 event, which strives to raise awareness about the benefits of playing games in libraries and their inclusion in educational programs, Hasbro sent 50,000 of its new Monopoly Deal, Scrabble Slam and Pictureka cards games to libraries throughout the United States.
“Hasbro is honored to sponsor the 2009 National Gaming Day to support this American Library Association initiative,” said Matt Collins, vice president of U.S. marketing for Hasbro Games. “By donating these card games, Hasbro intends to support libraries as they encourage learning, growth and creating positive memories.”
