Your Website Is A Reflection Of Your Company
August 24, 2007

Whether you are a manufacturer or a retailer, it is true that your website is a reflection of your company and the way your company is perceived.  If your site is high-tech and innovative, your company will be perceived as such.  This is particularly true of car seat and stroller manufacturers' websites.  Many sites (including retailer only sites) have virtual demonstrations, 360 degree views, and PDF instruction manuals.  This reflects a manufacturer's understanding of what will benefit retailers and consumers alike.

As for retailers, your site is a reflection of your store and it's ownership.  If your site is out-dated (as ours was for SO long!), your store will also be perceived as such.  If your site is exciting and vibrant, people will see you as a hip and trendy establishment.  If your site is practical and navigable, your store will appear "user friendly".  If your website has "SALE!" as every other word, your site will be perceived as a used-car-lot-kind-of-store.  If your site says negative things about anyone or anything, your store will be perceived as negative.

I would like to encourage manufacturers and retailers to really contemplate how you wish to be perceived.  Apply the desired perception to every aspect of your business, especially your website.  If you would like to know how I perceive your website, please link it in a comment below.  Make sure to register with Kids Today Online and LOGIN before commenting.  Remember, first impressions are KEY and your website can make all the difference!
