Reducing Stress In The Workplace
July 13, 2007

I've blogged on the topic of stress before.  I do believe that employers should, in general, do more to reduce the stress levels of employees.  I found an example, though, of a company that takes employee happiness too far.  This particular company is a corporate atmosphere which does lend itself to more daily stress.  The company's answer?  Massages and game tables... I kid you not!

When corporations start policy trends such as regular massages for employees, are we not destined to see some trickle-down into the retail sector?  I mean, are we going to see employees wanting massage breaks?  I hope that this is an extreme example.  I would like to re-state that I do believe stress should be minimized, but come on!  Massages at work on the company tab and on company time???  I hope you'll find this report as amusing as I did.  The reporter, Cash Peters (of whom I am obviously a fan), finds the concept laughable, too.  Enjoy!
