Frustration With Furniture And Mean People
September 20, 2007
I know I'm not the only one having problems at the present with certain furniture manufacturers (not to be named, of course). I am getting frustrated with the fact that approximately 80% of my customers who buy one of these brands has
at least one major issue on
at least one piece. I'm not looking for a solution to these issues. The manufacturers know what's going on and they are working on it. I, like many of you, need to vent. Ahhhhhhhhh! Okay, for anyone else who is in this position right now, say it with me, "Ahhhhhhhhh!" Good job.
While I'm venting, I may as well share another thought along the same lines. We know that the Better Business Bureau is in existence to help regulate and maintain fair business practices. I think we should open the "Better Customer Bureau". This office would be one that would maintain reason and rational thinking in otherwise out-of-sorts customers. I have 2 customers, no, make that 3, who have crossed that line within the last 12 years. I'm going to be the first to report ridiculous consumers to the BCB. Once again, Ahhhhhhh!
The BCB would have a national registry of consumers who are amazingly patient and kind (to be rewarded, not walked on). The BCB would also have a national registry of consumers to whom you should not sell even a stick of gum. (I know it's not ethical or realistic but who doesn't feel like black-listing a customer from time to time?) I'm not talking about customers who are persistent. Persistence is one thing. Belligerence is another.
As for the wonderful customers I mentioned, I actually have two of these gems. Both of these customers have been having problems for over a year with a total of 3 different furniture manufacturers. They have been so kind, patient, forgiving, and understanding. I reward these customers with discounts, samples, and gratitude every chance I get. I'm just waiting for them to get fed up (and rightfully so!)
If you feel like screaming at manufacturers who can't seem to get it right and customers who think it's okay to be hateful,
do it! Post your scream below in a comment. Register with Kids Today Online, Login, and SCREAM! Ahhhhhhh!!! Let someone know that you're fed up! I can't hear you...
