Next Level Retailing
April 15, 2008

After attending an in-depth seminar on upgrading to Retail Pro Version 9, my sisters and I had much to discuss.  We took a long hard look at what we want the store to do and where we want the store to go.  We are planning the future of our store with a positive and spiritual mindset.

Two or three years ago, if you had called one of the Nelson girls on a Sunday morning you'd find us each sleeping in, likely recovering from the night before.  These days, though, the three of us have each (independently, I might add) gravitated to a more spiritual approach to life.  On Sunday mornings now, each of us goes to church.  Krystal and Lindsay go to the same church, not far from where we all live.  I go to a different church, a bit further out.  We have all found our spiritual homes.

With that said, the three of us are now inclined to make our spirituality an integral part of our business.  We do not sell God... that is not what I mean to imply.  We have goals, though, far different from some other retailers (and different from what we used to want).  We want to succeed for our own good, of course.  (I'm a fan of a life more abundant but, then again, who isn't?)  More importantly, though, we want to be of service to the community, exemplify ethics for our own children who will one day be in our shoes, and grow the legacy of the business we love.

I am believing God for great growth this year, both personally and in business.  I am thanking Him, in advance, for a breakthrough year.  Stepping into a new POS system will be scary, especially since the dynamics of our family involvement have changed so drastically in the last year (and continue to change rapidly).  We can do it, though.  With help from God and the strong fabric we've woven from the threads of sisterhood, we will become so much more than ever before.  This is the year of next level living and next level retailing for the Nelson girls.  Just wait and see!

Because of our shared love for the business and our shared faith, arguments are far fewer amongst us sisters than they used to be. An argument, after all, stems from a lack of common ground. While the three of us are each quite different from one another, we share the same basic identity because of these common characteristics. That is by no means to say that we three are one in the same. Each of us is a real one-of-a-kind! Anyone who knows us personally will tell you just the same!

It sounds like you all are on a wonderful path, one that brings you peace and harmony, not only in your personal life, but business as well. I am sure your employees enjoy working in the enviroment you have created. That in turn will be passed on to your clients, and come back to you double fold. Jeremiah 29:11 Many Blessings to all of you! Sandra VanSickle Cuddlebugs-n-Cocoons
