College Football On The Saturday After Thanksgiving... A Retail Nightmare
November 28, 2007

Aaron Pederson hit the proverbial nail on the head in his blog titled, "Go Huskers, Kind Of".  College football can be a huge factor in the way a Saturday goes.  I've heard that this phenomena is more prevalent in the south, where we hold dire allegiances to schools we never attended, but I'm sure it has it's place nationwide.  I wonder how many of you had a fabulous "Black Friday" followed by a near-dead, college-football-head-to-head Saturday.  The Saturday after Thanksgiving is when the local rivals duke it out.  Around these parts the University of Georgia vs. Georgia Institute Of Technology football game (better known as Georgia/Georgia Tech game) is practically a holiday.  Where does my allegiance lie?  With my store, not with a football team.  I wish they'd hold those "important" games at night, after we close! :)
