Back Up Your Computer Files!
October 18, 2007

If you have any data stored on a computer in your store or company (and who doesn't) make sure you back it up on a disk!  This week the motherboard died on my computer and I had no backup.  The unit was under warranty with Gateway so the replacement of the motherboard comes at no cost.  Data retrieval, however, is not covered by any warranty.

I had to put the computer in the shop for data recovery because Gateway told me they would have to wipe clean the hard drive in order to replace the motherboard.  For $95 I was able to retrieve all of the valuable information that was stored in that particular unit.  The data retrieval would have cost far more if something had been wrong with the hard drive.

I tell you all of this for a reason... to save you time and money!  Make sure that you back up any important files immediately!  You could be in worse shape than I have been this week.  Take care and BACK 'EM UP!
