ABC Show In Vegas
August 30, 2007

While many of you will be attending the ABC Expo in Las Vegas, others of us will be back home "holding down the fort."  We will be running around the stores while you are running around 10 miles of new products, sales pitches, and hustle-and-bustle.  A part of me is very jealous while another part of me is quite glad to be at home.  I'm sure it's a mixed feeling for those of you who attend, as well.

As a small child I always enjoyed the return of my mother from out-of-town buying shows.  She would bring us neat souveniers and knick-knacks from the vendors.  She always had them packed in her giant suitcase when she walked in the door.  We would proceed to bombard her with, "What did you bring me?!?  What did you bring me?!?"  My favorite for years was "Buckle Up" the safety parrot.  I even remember the song that went with him... "Buckle up for safety, buckle up!"

These days, when mom returns from shows we say, "What did you bring our kids?!?"  Some things never change.  Have fun in Vegas everyone!  Wish I could join you... sort of!

When I first started traveling for work on a regular basis I started bringing home the "guilt" gifts. About 5 years ago I came home from a trip and my daughter Heidi (who's now 10 going on 16)thought the wonderful "party hats" I brought home were the coolest. She squealed with delight and wore them for days. They were the shower caps from the hotel : ) Sadly I can't get away with these types of gifts any more. Now when I go to Vegas she wants CSI stuff. Have fun in Vegas… we really should! When all is said and done, enjoying what we do and doing it as best we can is what it is all about. Apparently, there have been comments made about vendors opening their World Market Center Showrooms, and I believe we should all lighten up a bit. Let's keep this fun. Creative Images / Art4Kids strongly supports the Juvenile Specialty Industry and we attempt to demonstrate that support through service to our friends and retailers. In our view, service is making a good, reliable product and getting it to our retailers on time and undamaged. And, when things go wrong, taking responsibility and acting promptly to resolve the difficulty. But we also believe that "Service is Selection." The foundation of the Juvenile Specialty industry is selection. That is why we are opening our permanent showroom at 07:00 each morning during the ABC Show… to offer our friends, our retailers, an opportunity to select from our full line of almost 1,000 images without conflicting with the ABC agenda. And, we will also be showing at the ABC Show in space 3215. We will give out catalogs, fliers, and the password to www.art4kids.com where only you, our retailers, can access the pricelist. We will take orders…We will give a 5% discount for orders placed at the show… We will say "Hi" to those of you too hurried to stop… and we will hang roughly 30 images. Sure, they will be good images, but if you want to see almost everything in our line including the 100 new pictures we introduced in the last two months… if you want selection, you must come to the World Market Center. We simply do not have the time, staff or money to show 1,000 pieces in any temporary show. And, if you take the time to come to our World Market Center Showroom, we will double your discount as a way to say "Thank You!" Bottom line: Our permanent, 1,200 square foot Art4Kids Showroom in the World Market Center will be open to serve our customers. We have no agenda other than to offer the best and the broadest selection of art for kids anywhere… as Lisa so aptly put it in her article, it is our desire "to bring something wonderful to our industry." And, if you want to bring something wonderful home… bring a picture! Okay, we'll ship it! Coffee is on… See you at 07:00! Ken Phillips
