Labor Day Sale
August 31, 2007

As Labor Day approaches we hear non-stop ads screaming, "Sale!  Sale!  Sale!"  We know our customers are expecting something if not a "big sale" on Labor Day weekend.  What this means to us, the independent baby furniture retailer, is more than an opportunity to thin our stock.  The Labor Day sale is a chance to make space for new merchandise (shipping after ABC).  It's also a chance to build onto the budget for the ABC show.  What brilliant timing for a store-wide sale!

What are the downsides to a large, one-day sale?  Well, for one, our store has limited parking.  It should be a memorable experience for anyone trying to get in or out of our lot.  Secondly, we have limited space in the store.  It's going to be "Bumper Bellies" in here all day long.  Our customers, who have become accustomed to our helpful and knowledgeable staff, will be left to "fend for themselves".

Is there an upside to all of this "chaos" in our store???  Of course!  We will give customers an unforgetable experience!  People who go shopping the day after Thanksgiving thrive on the chaos!  The customers know this is not an everyday-atmosphere so it must be a special sale!  These shoppers will then look forward to the next crazy sale making it even crazier!

Who wins in the "one-day-sale"?  Everyone!  We win because we are better prepared for the ABC buying show.  Customers win because they get great deals and great stories of whirlwind chaos.  I'm really looking forward to it.  Should be a blast!  I'll let you know...
