botanicals everywhere!

May 25, 2009 I was in NYC a week ago to see my neice's graduation from NYU- While there I took a few days to look and see what's happening in the stores. One of the recurring themes was Botanicals, other themes were Birds, wire furniture, reclaimed and naturals materials furniture... and so much more. It was a bit sad to see some stores I had always visited in the past were closed. But inspiration was still everywhere, and so were botanicals:

In Tabletop:

Botanicals on pillows are everywhere and in many forms- many are printed:

Others embroidered:

Still others are handpainted!

Botanicals can be palms embroidered on the bed, on a chair and more on pillows of course, all of these (below) from ANKASA... the fabulous store in NYC that everyone MUST know about, check out their link.
I was truly inspired by this team of designers. Just look at their website!

More to come later... Enjoy!
What do YOU think of botanicals?
