The ABC show
It was my first time being on the “other side of the booth” (so to speak) at the ABC show. I was there to help buy an assortment of USA product that could be exported to the i-baby stores in China.
I was also there to look for products that excited me enough to write about them here at the Style Center. So here goes…
Let me start with (Helen doodle):
At first, I was mesmerized by the subject matter of her wall art… things kids could really get into. Pretend stuff: How to spot a robot, how to be a pirate, how to find a dinosaur, great stuff for boys that are not the usual sports and vehicles themes we see so often in boys wall art. Then, of course, princess and fairy stuff for the girls, plus her Map series, which inspires my love of travel… and should do the same for kids, in the real world and the imaginary!

Then I met Helen. She is charming, with a lively British accent and she reminds me of her own characters in her art, with a spunky personality perfect for her chosen field: artist for kids. It’s not just art though; she is showing kids how to draw and how to use their imaginations, which is priceless. She, by the way, has a book on how to draw & paint called “Fun with Art”
I see great potential for Helen’s art on all sorts of products… rugs anyone? T-shirts? Kids tableware, coloring books, and her own line of art supplies for kids. Look for Helen Doodle, she has that special something. Helen, call me!
Then I took a stroll over to stroller world and found 4Moms
ready for this:
A stroller which folds itself for storage! It’s called the “Origami”
This is no ordinary stroller. There is so much magic in this one stroller that it’s hard to believe:
On board generator, MP3 compatible, cell phone charging, informative dashboard, child sensors, pathway lights, Power folding, LCD interface, only 22 lbs, one push brake, no assembly required, 4 wheel suspension, 4 cup holders! Converts to a double stroller, (the whole family gets a ride) and MORE! I mean this thing rocks!
AND it looks cool. I swear, I wanted to have a baby just seeing this stroller demonstrated.
If you have not seen this, then take a look on-line, remarkable!

They also have the (mamaroo), which is a unique baby seat, it let’s babies go for a car ride
While mama & papa can take a break… you know what I’m talking about, those crazy car rides just to get baby to sleep- not anymore! Cool.

Next, I couldn’t resist the cutest Pacifiers I’ve ever seen: Pacimals
Pacifiers shaped like softie animals with a removable pacifier.

A doctor who is also a Mom designs these adorable characters: Monica Williams. After convincing her that we (My China Client and I) didn’t want to steal her idea, she warmed up to us. I really wanted to know more about the product. I think it’s clever because instead of a blanket, or a pacifier, it is a toy which is easy for baby to hold, has a removable cleanable paci and after removing the paci, it can be taken into babies growing years as a best friend, like many babies “binkies”… just so clever and cute- a great gift. See all of the great little pacimals online.
I will continue to show more of the great and inspiring products I found at the ABC show. I admire all of the talented and inspiring people who come up with wonderful product ideas- then follow through and actually make them, market them, and get them out there for everyone to enjoy!
Please share your comments and if you have any favorites- tell me!
