Hang it up!

January 4, 2010

Happy New Year! Festive decor for everyone, including little ones!
This post is all about "hanging it up"… from the ceiling, on the wall, the lights,
the mobiles, and the best thing of all, super creative ways to hang the alphabet
for your little Einstein. I find all of these ideas great inexpensive ways to update old ideas.

Groups of similar things always make even Chinatown paper lanterns or paper umbrellas
look special. All you need is to be silly and think like a child. What does a child like?
I think these ideas would look amazing and dramatic in a kids store, or in a childs room.

The Chinatown kite below could be hung alone or also in a group.

(below) Groups of repeated wall decals make this more formal canopy ledge
look more casual and relaxed for a childs room.

A collection of Vintage marionettes ( below) grouped together is
playful and silly. You can hang them high for safe child practices,
since they are used as decor and not really play things.

One inexpensive mobile is a great display when placed near a super fantastic
alphabet wall mural…

this wall alphabet (above and below)  is super big and super fun-
and it’s black my friends! not blue, not pink… black for baby. Yay!

more alphabets… (below) groups of colorful "flashcards" make an inexpensive
and fun way to dress the room, plus again, there is the mobile- hanging high.
(Notice, the mobile is not perched low over the crib- it does not match the
bedding exactly, but instead it complements color and is used as decor…
This is the future of mobiles in kids rooms, thank you very much!)

Love this Gorilla, (above)most of the alphabet is small, but one letter is selected
from a childs name and blown up! what a great way to customize a room.
Again, Alphabet letters that are not pink or blue, yet perfect for baby!

SO many ways to "hang it up"… for a child’s room

Bridget, I think it is very important to always create unique different displays that will bring attention to your store. Changing things up keeps consumers interested in coming back for new inspiration. You could definitely create a buzz for your store by utilizing some of these creative ideas. What fun ideas for children’s rooms. I love utilizing the 5th wall.

Hello again Bridget, Love the use of the ceiling, which is usually wasted space and boring. The umbrellas and chinatown kite are my favorite. Will rethink my Japanese umbrellas which are sitting in the corner of my diningroom and only get used when I take a walk in the heat of the day in the summertime. Great inspiration.
